Why choose Westwood Driving School?
- We have friendly, courteous, punctual and well-trained male and female driving instructors. Our driving instructors are trained in the most modern techniques
of instructing and are licensed by the State of California through the
Department of Motor Vehicles. It is a California law that each instructor
be trained for a total of 60 hours, and we insist they continue learning
with additional materials on their own.
- We offer convenient scheduling seven days a week.
- We have quality service at reasonable rates.
- We include pick-up and return in our driving instruction packages.
This especially convenient for busy people who find it difficult to
take time off work or leave household duties to transport themselves
or their children to their driving sessions.
Westwood Driving
School has been licensed by the State of California through the Department
of Motor Vehicles. All vehicles have been inspected for safety and are
bonded and insured by reputable insurance companies. Our license number
is #3642 , if you wish to inquire at the DMV.
We utilize late model vehicles for all driving instruction. Our vehicles
are dual control (brakes only, as we have found through experience with
students that dual steering doesn't allow the student to feel they are
actually doing the driving).
We offer driver's education and training for students under the age of
18. For adult beginners, we offer a package of twenty 20
hours (10, two-hour lessons). This course offers the novice training in the fundamentals of driving
skills, a knowledge of driving strategically in traffic, a review of basic
laws and rules of driving, as well as instruction in freeway driving and
emergencies.
Our package of intermediate driving lessons consists of 12 hours (six, 2-hour lessons). This is a good package for those who have driven some, but need
a little practice to pass the road test at the DMV. The refresher driving course
is a package of six (3, two-hour) driving lessons used to refresh a student on
the DMV road test only. You may also take just one driving lesson and determine
from your experience and an evaluation by your instructor, how many more
you need or if one is all you require. If you decide to continue with
more than one lesson, you can upgrade to a larger package by paying the
balance of the larger package. You are in control of the lessons you choose
to take. Whether you take one or twenty lessons, we are at your service.
We have no contracts to sign . In order to assist you in getting your
California driver's license, you may take advantage of taking your road
test in the vehicle you were practicing in. Since you are already comfortable
in this vehicle and familiar with the traffic in this vehicle, you are
more likely to pass your test on the first try. We offer a discounted
charge on your test day for this service. Now that you have the facts
give us a call and schedule one lesson to see how you like us. We are
looking forward to serving you!
Sincerely,
Andrea Stavast,
manager

instruction requiring student involvement in a variety of ways. A textbook
and 20 films are utilized, and each is concluded with discussion, observation,
demonstration and review. The student is tested, quizzed and given spontaneous
evaluation of their individual progress. The Online course at 310DriversEd.com uses 21 chapters (covering the same material). Each chapter contains a chapter quiz. The final is a test of the student's ability to remember those subjects taught throughout the course. Westwood also sends each online student supplemental material to help with the permit test at the DMV. All online students are welcome to attend any classroom lectures offered at the school; simply call 310-824-4444 to reserve a spot for any Saturday Lecture!

DRIVER'S TRAINING
Driver's training is accomplished in a vehicle with a licensed instructor.
Six (6) hours training with licensed instructor in a public school or
private driving school are required by law. It takes three days, two hours
per day, to complete. Driver's training can be taken any day of the week with an appointment. Driver's Training does not automatically freeway
driving and parallel parking. Basic driving skill must first be covered
and mastered by the student. Once this is done, if the instructor feels
the student can drive on the freeway safely and take the extra time to
learn parallel parking, they may cover these. The decision is the instructor's, though, as we find that many students fail to practice BASIC driving skills beforehand. Techniques and tips for practicing with your teen (click for information).
